YLD Kicks off Spring with a Fling!

Last night the YLD hosted the Annual ACBA Spring Fling at BOCCA in Margate.

BOCCA is a local and beach-goer favorite, so we couldn't think of a better way to kick off spring, albeit a little late (and hopefully bring some warm weather to South Jersey), than to host the Spring Fling there! Although, if we are being honest, the idea was that of our Parliamentarian, Adam Busler, Esq.

The management at BOCCA could not have been more accomodating or helpful, and for that, we would like to thank them!! Over 50 people attended, which surpasses the attendance for the last few years.

The party started promptly at 6:00pm, with a lot of people arriving early around 5:30pm. Now that we think about it, a lot of people also stayed late, too... a definite sign that people enjoyed themselves!

Food options included a carving station, an assortment of pastas and pasta salads, coal fired pizzas and flat breads, several salads, and kobe beef sliders. The food must've been delicious, because it went so fast that the servers could barely keep up! BOCCA also created a drink special for all ACBA members - a delicious glass of sangria - that we noticed many people enjoying.

We also had an honored guest in attendance - Former Senator William L. Gormley, now of DLA Piper. Senator Gormley has been working with our Chair-Elect, Julie E. Nugent, Esq., to create more charitable projects to help underprivileged students in Atlantic County. He has graciously donated hundreds of dollars to help the YLD expand its charitable and community outreach projects beyond a single Children's Holiday Party. Thanks to Senator Gormley, the YLD will be sending 50 students from Sovereign Avenue School - a Title I school in Atlantic City - to see 'The Jungle Book' at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia in June. Without the financial support and general guidance of Senator Gormley, the YLD would not be able to continue to provide underprivileged and disadvantaged children in Atlantic County with educational and cultural experiences.

All-in-all, this was another succcessful event for the YLD! Thanks to everyone who helped organize and plan, especially Adam Busler, Esq., who handled most of the communication with BOCCA.
